Capernaum – The Bible tells us that Capernaum was the hometown of Jesus during his earthly ministry. Nestled on the banks of the Sea of Galilee, this ancient village was a center for fishing and commerce. On the shores of this village Jesus called many of his disciples to follow him, including Peter, Andrew, James and John. It was here that Jesus first taught in the synagogue, preached to the multitudes, healed the sick and performed miracles.
